Chasing (Eastern Iowa) Waterfalls Weekend
With Covid-19 wrecking havoc on our nation right now and with school a handful of weeks away with stir crazy kids, I had to think outside of the box to come up with family-friendly ideas to social distance, not break the bank, and get out of the house for our health and sanity. Chasing Waterfalls Weekend was my answer to this equation. I am all for cultural references for explaining things, so it was only right that as my kids piled into the van for our weekend getaway that I pushed play on TLC's Waterfalls . My 19 year old immediately caught the reference and knew what we were doing. It took me belting out the chorus and explaining that sometimes advice given by musicians doesn't need to be followed in our own lives and even then I don't think Emma (13) or Casey (11) appreciated my reference, but Michaela (19) gasped and clapped.
