Emma goes boom...

Image
Emma fell off a ladder at the park next door yesterday morning. Thank God for an on-the-ball doctor's office on a Friday because we were able to have her seen in less than 30 minutes after the injury, had an x-ray done at the hospital, had picked up some Arby's for lunch, and returned home within 2 hours! not to mention a diagnosis within 30 minutes of arriving home! What a blessing that it's only a hairline fracture of her right clavicle (collarbone)... it could have been so much worse. She's done a pretty good job of immobilizing that arm due to the pain and we've not had to resort to a sling. Brad and I determined within a few minutes of getting her on pain medicine that a sling would be more dangerous than helpful considering she still tries to climb onto her chair and riding toys and doesn't have the greatest balance due to the medicine! Thanks for all the prayers and kind thoughts after her injury! For a brief period (with medication on board) yesterda...

Are you rolling my way...

Image
Casey is at what I refer to as the "Beached Whale" stage of rolling... you know: where he rolls from back to belly but then flares his arms and screams out until someone rolls him back over. (A very annoying phase that's gone on for over 2 weeks now!) This causes him to wake up during more active sleep phases since he rolls from his side to his belly unexpectedly. I was amazed he was still sleeping yesterday morning around 7:30... I snuck in to see him and this is what I saw: Apparently he rolled onto his belly sometime between 5:30 (when I had last been in) and 7:30! Didn't scream out to let me know... must have been too tired to notice he was on his belly or too tired to care!

I'm pleased to announce....

that Zach and Sam are coming home this evening! Joe Knox (Zach's dad) is in Sacramento, CA, to bring them home... PRAISE GOD! Ashley Allen also came home from the hospital a couple of days ago and is doing pretty well. Tired and feverish at times, but much much better! Thank you for your prayers and concern.

PRAYERS please!

Our photographer friend Ashley Allen is being hospitalized tonight for meningitis. Her mother tells me that she's very very sick. Her husband is undergoing intense training for law enforcement right now in addition to much happening in her business and life right now. Please keep her and her 3 kids and husband, Brad, in your prayers. ************************************************************************* Zach Knox, a 16 y.o. young man whose family is close to ours in Moline, Illinois, ran away with his girlfriend 8/28/09. Via the internet, they've been in touch with their families very briefly (one-sided), but they're saying that they're going to be gone for a year and a half. They have no cell phones, little money, and no IDs with them. Zach is a musician who may be seen at open mic nights or performing on the streetside. They are driving a 1999 maroon Chevy Lumina with IL license plates K177427. If you see them or their car call the Moline Police ASAP. 309-73...
