Professional photo session: 3 months

Image
Ashley blessed us by her amazing photography skills once again as Casey turned 3 months. Unfortunately, I couldn't get him to nap in the hours prior to her arrival, so the session was long and difficult. We did manage to get him to cooperate for a while, though, and Ashley- in her true form- snapped a few cute pics! I thought this one was amazing! It's so innocent and those eyes melt me... notice how the reflection of the windows are in his eyes? The eyes are indeed the "window" to your soul! This photograph was taken with a Navy hat given to me by my brother Dave when I was a little girl! Casey posing in his new SVIMwear! My sleeping bubby!

6/19 Casey is now 3 months old!

He is wearing 6-9 month jammies, 12 month summer clothes, and size 3 or 4 Pampers. I haven't weighed him since his 2 month appt... that may have to wait until his 4 month appt! As is tradition, I took Casey's monthly pictures:

6/13- 6/19 Meemaw & Poppy Visit NC

Image
If I could only choose one word to describe our week-long visit with Stan & Sharon, I'd have to say: RAIN After having experienced severe drought here in Burlington in 2007, rain is by no means a bad word in our household. Unfortunately, it did limit our entertainment options as Burlington is more of an outdoorsy type town. The rain allowed us to do things and explore other options that we perhaps may not have sought had the weather been nice, though: The girls baking sugar cookies with Meemaw for their tea party Being attacked by radiation-plagued sea turtles while chasing around a free-spirited toddler (aka glow golf!) Spending time with some kooky kids! Recording this special moment for the family tree (of 12 grandkids, Casey's only one of two male "Whitten"s) And bonding with our newest addition! We sure did enjoy our time visiting, but only wish the sun had come out a bit more so that y'all could have enjoyed some disc golf ;)

Circle of Cuties

At the beginning of June during one of Casey's rare tummy time sessions, the girls got down on the floor with him and I realized that I had a priceless moment to position them for a "circle" pic of their gorgeous faces close together. The first couple of pictures went well, but then the girls quickly began acting silly. Oddly enough, Casey was the rock in these photographs... laying there like a good little boy! ;) I sure love my kids and the fact that they've got a deep love for each other! A mama couldn't ask for much better...

Mommy's favorite pirate...

My dear friend Cassie got this cute onesie for Casey. Though it only fit for a few days earlier this month, I wanted to make sure that I got a picture of him wearing it!

KAYLA

6/6/09 painted lady butterflies... Kayla received 5 Painted Lady caterpillars and the butterfly kit from Meemaw. We enjoyed watching these catepillars, chrysalises, and butterflies over the few weeks the life cycle took! On the 6th, we let the butterflies go, but when we opened the top of the butterfly house, they didn't want to fly away. Kayla reached in and got one to sit on her hand. This went on for some time with 2 different butterflies... they didn't want to fly away from Kayla! A few days later, my friend Jolene who lives down the street found a painted lady butterfly in her butterfly garden. She named the butterfly 'Miss Kayla'. :) Kayla's 8th Birthday party 6/13/09... With the last day of school falling on 6/10 and the arrival of daddy's family on the afternoon of the 13th, we decided it was best to have her party earlier in the day of the 13th so that we wouldn't have to wait until after the 4th of July. We had it at the PuttPutt Fun Center...
